dort_dougsmFire Chief Doug Dort (1971)

Chief Doug Dort joined the New Glasgow Fire Department in March of 1971.  Chief Dort also was an Officer with the New Glasgow Police Department for 14 years and 31 years in emergency medical services, full and part-time. Doug was the owner of Dort’s Ambulance service until 1997. Lifelong learning is important as an individual and fire fighter and Chief Dort obtained a Level 3 Fire Investigation Certificate as well as Level 2 Firefighter Certificate including several courses in Incident Command and Emergency Management.

Doug is married with two married daughters and 2 beautiful granddaughters.

 

 

white_rosssmDeputy Chief Ross White (1995)

Deputy Chief Ross White joined the New Glasgow Fire Department in 1995 and rose through the ranks to Deputy Chief in 2009.  Deputy Chief White is a Level 2 Firefighter, an instructor in Vehicle Rescues and Haz-mat operations and a certified emergency vehicle technician

Deputy Chief White is married to Lisa and has two beautiful children, Austin and Gracie.

1. Must be 19 years of age or older
2. Must be a resident of the town of New Glasgow
3. Must have a valid driver's license
4. Be able to obtain fire fighter level 1 within 2 years
