Environment Canada has issued a blizzard warning for the New Glasgow region in anticipation of a severe weather system that is expected to create treacherous winter conditions, with a significant snow accumulation expected between midnight tonight and the early morning hours on Tuesday.

Keep informed of changing treacherous weather conditions, cancellations and street and road conditions before you travel on Monday.

Residents are advised that the winter parking ban will be enforced during the night and early mornings from 1am to 7am to allow Public Works crews to properly clear the streets and sidewalks throughout the towns. Vehicles must also be off streets under section 139 of the Nova Scotia Motor Vehicle Act where tickets can be issued and vehicles can be towed any time, day or night, if vehicles are parked in a way that interferes with snow clearing. It is critical that vehicles are removed from streets and sidewalk areas during the snow storm to allow crews to safely maintain priority streets and emergency routes.
