This morning the New Glasgow region continues to be under a Blizzard Warning that has brought a significant amount of snow to the area.

New Glasgow Regional Police officers have currently reported at 2017/02/14 at 7:10am that streets, roads and sidewalks continue to be snow covered and some road and streets may be down to one lane. In addition, some areas are experiencing blowing snow conditions causing reduced visibility.

If you have to travel today, plan ahead, check weather conditions, cancellations, delayed openings, and drive to the conditions. Some sidewalks are not plowed and pedestrians that need to travel should also walk with extreme caution.
Residents are advised that the winter parking ban will be enforced during the night and early mornings from 1am to 7am to allow Public Works crews to properly clear the streets and sidewalks throughout the towns. Vehicles must also be off streets under section 139 of the Nova Scotia Motor Vehicle Act where tickets can be issued and vehicles can be towed any time, day or night, if vehicles are parked in a way that interferes with snow clearing. It is critical that vehicles are removed from streets and sidewalk areas during the snow storm to allow crews to safely maintain priority streets and emergency routes.
