New Glasgow continues to attract new businesses and employers such as Convergys, a high tech customer service centre, the ICT call centre and large retails outlets such as Canadian Tire, Wal-Mart, Staples and Zellers and has been home to Maritime Steel for 100 years. New Glasgow is a thriving combination of small, mid size and large businesses. There are several commercial, service and business districts in the town, which include the Downtown core, Westville Road, East River Road and a developing Business Park in the Parkdale area. New Glasgow is also home to the Maritimes Northeast Pipelines central office, Stright-McKay, the Aberdeen Hospital, three Sobeys grocery stores, a Co-op store, the Atlantic Superstore- New Glasgow Market and most major car dealerships.
