New Glasgow is strategically located for both business and pleasure with excellent transportation routes and infrastructure. We are located only 90 minutes from the Halifax International Airport and just under two hours from Nov Scotia’s capital city of Halifax. Access to both the airport and the metro area is along a divided highway system. Depots for Cape Breton and Central Nova Railway are located within the Town. We are also less than 30 minutes from Northumberland Ferries terminal in Caribou, which operates two passenger/commercial ferries along a 75 minute route to Wood Islands PEI, May to December. It is only a two-and-a-half hour drive to Sydney, Cape Breton or Moncton, New Brunswick.
Presently public transit services are unavailable in the municipality; however, specialized transportation services are available for persons with disabilities.
