New Glasgow Public Library

The New Glasgow Public Library is one of the Pictou-Antigonish Regional Library’s largest branches, offering a wide range of resources, programs, technology, and services for residents of all ages.

The library is currently operating from a temporary location at the Aberdeen Business Centre while renovations are underway at the existing library building.

The New Glasgow Public Library offers many services and resources, including:

  • Wireless hotspot lending and high-speed Internet access
  • 3D printing
  • Summer Reading Clubs for children
  • Author readings and book signings
  • Evening presentations and workshops on a variety of topics
  • Special collections, including a large history collection specializing in Pictou County
  • Access to NS Community Technology resources

 

Library Revitalization Project

The New Glasgow Public Library is currently undergoing a major revitalization project that will transform the existing facility into a vibrant community Destination Centre. The project will create welcoming, accessible spaces for residents of all ages, including modern meeting rooms, creative and maker spaces, areas for youth and seniors, and flexible programming and collaboration spaces for community groups and nonprofit organizations.

The project will also support important building upgrades to improve accessibility and energy efficiency.
