What is public engagement?
Public engagement gives residents an opportunity to learn about projects, share feedback, ask questions, and help inform municipal decision making.
Community input helps Council and staff better understand local perspectives and priorities.
How can residents participate?
Residents can:
- Attend Council meetings
- Participate in public hearings
- Complete surveys and questionnaires
- Attend open houses and community meetings
- Join advisory committees when opportunities are available
- Contact Council or Town staff directly
How can I watch Council meetings?

Residents can watch meetings live as they happen or go back and watch previous meetings at a later time. This is a helpful way to learn more about Council discussions, decisions, and upcoming priorities.

Can residents speak at Council meetings?
Residents can attend Council meetings to learn more about municipal decisions and discussions. Depending on the meeting type and agenda, there may be opportunities to speak, ask questions, or provide comments through the proper process. Residents can contact Town Hall to learn how to participate in an upcoming meeting.
Why are public hearings held?
Some decisions, especially those involving planning and development, legally require public hearings.
Public hearings provide residents with an opportunity to speak about proposed changes before Council makes a final decision.
I’m not old enough to vote. Can I still participate?
Yes. Residents of all ages are encouraged to learn about local government, attend public meetings, share ideas, and become involved in their community.
