The New Glasgow Riverfront is home to a full-service marina, the Samson Trail, a 4km trail on the Westside of the town and the Pioneer Trail (2km) which connects the trail system to the east side of the town. Glasgow Square Theatre offers year-round performance arts and music. The large doors on the front of the building open for outdoor events and festivals.

New Glasgow is home to several signature events such as the ECMA nominated New Glasgow Music Jubilee, the Festival of the Tartans, The Race on the River Dragon Boat Festival, Marathon of Respect and Equality, the Johnny Miles Running Event Weekend and the New Glasgow Music Festival, the longest-running music festival in Canada.
