New Glasgow, NS, August 11, 2025, 2025. As part of New Glasgow’s 150th Anniversary celebrations, the Town of New Glasgow is proud to present the Mayor’s Tea and Launch of the booklet, New Glasgow’s 45 Mayors: Leadership & Legacy of a Riverside Town.
This beautifully designed and thoroughly researched publication is the result of a collaborative effort between the Pictou County Roots Society and the Town of New Glasgow, with Brenda Hutchinson serving as the lead researcher and several dedicated volunteers contributing their time and talents as writers.
“The history of New Glasgow is filled with remarkable leaders who helped shape the community we know and love today,” said Mayor Nancy Dicks. “I’m thrilled to celebrate our 150th anniversary by sharing their stories through this beautiful booklet and inviting the community to join us for an afternoon of history, connection, and pride in our town.”
The booklet chronicles the stories, leadership, and legacies of the 45 individuals who have served as Mayor of New Glasgow, offering residents and visitors alike a glimpse into the town’s rich history and civic heritage. Limited copies will be available for purchase at $20 each.
The Mayor’s Tea and Book Launch promises to be a memorable gathering for the community, with an open invitation to all.
