Traffic Advisory - George Street

The Town of New Glasgow wishes to advise motorists and public
that paving on George St. will take place at the following times and dates:

Friday, August 23, 2024, from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. next day
Saturday, August 24, 2024, from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. next day

George Street will be closed between Provost St. and Stellarton Rd. Traffic Control will be in place. Please drive safely through this worksite and be aware of pedestrians, workers, and work vehicles.

The sidewalks and pedway under the bridge will remain open; pedestrians are advised to use the sidewalks and pedway with caution.

The Town of New Glasgow apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause and thanks you for your cooperation.

Traffic Advisory - Multiple Streets

Important traffic advisory⚠️

The Town of New Glasgow wishes to advise residents and motorists that cold milling (planning) will take place on three Town streets on August 22nd and continue possibly on August 23rd. This work is in preparation for paving and will occur on the following streets:

1. East River Rd. – from the Shell gas station to Atlantic Dr., inbound curb lane
2. George St. – from train tracks (near The Dock) to West side of George St. Bridge, full width (The entire surface of the bridge will be milled)
3. George St. – from Stellarton Rd. to bridge (two eastbound lanes)
4. South Frederick St. – from East River Rd. to MacGregor St.

The work will commence at 5 a.m. and continue until completed on each day. The George St. Bridge will be closed (both lanes) from 5 a.m. to noon.

Please drive safely through the worksites and be aware of pedestrians, workers, and work vehicles. Motorists are advised to use alternate routes whenever possible.

The Town of New Glasgow regrets any inconvenience this may cause and wishes to thank the public for their cooperation.

The Town of New Glasgow reminds you to review the following safety tips and guidelines about preparing an emergency kit to be able to look after yourself and your family for at least the first 72 hours of the situation.

Traffic Advisory - George Street

The Town of New Glasgow wishes to advise that the Engineering Department will be working on the George Street Bridge in preparation for upcoming milling and paving operations. The work will require one lane of traffic to be closed to the public from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday. August 14, 2024, with further lane closures possible in future. Please stay tuned for more information about traffic advisories.
