CONSTRUCTION WORK & ROAD MILLING
TOWN OF NEW GLASGOW
BIRCHVIEW CRESCENT (MAPLEWOOD DR. – LORNE ST.)
The Town of New Glasgow wishes to advise motorists that Road Paving will occur on Monday, October 27 and Tuesday, October 28, 2025 from 7:00am – 6:00pm and will require a full street closure with local traffic only.
Construction is weather dependent and updates to the construction completion will be posted on the Town’s website.
These closures are needed to complete street paving.
Motorists are advised to use alternate routes whenever possible, detours will be in place.

Construction is weather dependent and updates to the construction completion will be posted on the Town’s website.
These closures are needed to complete road milling prior to street paving. The schedule for street paving will follow shortly.
Motorists are advised to use alternate routes whenever possible, detours will be in place.

Notice to Motorists and Pedestrians
WORK ADVISORY – Provost St.
Thursday, October 9th.
The Town of New Glasgow wishes to advise businesses, pedestrians, residents and motorists that Provost Street will be closed to traffic from approximately 9:00am to 10:30am on Thursday, October 9th.
The closure is required to allow for crane work at Town Hall, 111 Provost St. and will affect traffic on Provost Street from George St. to Dalhousie St.
Traffic control will be in place. The sidewalk at the work site will be closed and work vehicles and equipment will occupy the parking spaces. Town Hall will remain open, and staff will assist users accessing the building.
The Town of New Glasgow regrets any inconvenience this may cause and wishes to thank the public for their cooperation.

The Town of New Glasgow is hiring for the position of: Operator Class 3- Transportation Division
TERM
Eight month TERM with potential for Full Time after an Employee Evaluation
NOTE: Probation will apply before being made permanent
THIS MOMENT, THIS POSITION
The Operator Three is primarily responsible for operating equipment used for SNIC, and for off season equipment operation. Other duties may include but are not limited to, long line painting, crosswalk painting, traffic control, carpenter work, grass cutting (using power driven equipment or by hand), concrete work and garbage pickup. The person must be versatile and adapt well to changing work conditions.
The Operator performs all other division duties, including labourer, when so requested by Supervisor or Chargehand. A valid driver’s licence (minimum class 3) with a clean driver’s abstract is required.
